The Work Order Grouping screen of the Mapping Wizard controls how Weavecentrix Desktop sets up Primavera P3 resources to represent the SAP work centres that are used in your work orders.

Driving resources are defined as those resources whose availability impacts the duration of an activity. SAP work centres are typically classified as driving resources and this is the default setting when Weavecentrix Desktop creates resources in Primavera P3 to represent SAP work centres.
You can stop Weavecentrix Desktop from setting your work centres as driving resources in your Primavera P3 projects by uncheck the checkbox marked "Make SAP work centres driving resources in Primavera P3."
You will probably need to set your work centres as driving resources if you want to perform resource levelling for your project. When Primavera P3 resource levels a project, it will take into account the resource limits for a resource only if the resource it marked as driving. Otherwise, it assumes the resource has unlimited capacity.
When you have this setting turned on, Weavecentrix Desktop will look at the capacity information of the work centre in SAP to calculate values for the Primavera P3 resource limits. See the sections Work Centres and Resources and Work Centre Capacity and Resource Limits in Mapping Work Centres and Resources for an explanation of how this is calculated.
If you are setting your Primavera P3 work centre resources as driving resources, you should always have resource limits set. If you don’t have the resource limits set, P3’s resource levelling thinks that you have unlimited capacity for that resource.
If you want Weavecentrix Desktop to create your work centre resources but you want to set the resource limits yourself, turn off this setting.
The setting is turned on by default.
In the capacity header for a work centre resource in SAP, there is a field for the capacity utilisation. This field is typically set to a value less than 100%. This reflects the fact that there will be some downtime for a resource during a normal working day for such things as rest breaks and transit time.
If you have this setting turned on, the resource will have a normal limit that reflects the SAP work centre’s available capacity.
See the section Work Centre Capacity and Resource Limits in Mapping Work Centres and Resources for an explanation of how this value is used to calculate the Primavera P3 normal resource limit.
This setting is turned on by default.
If you are using the capacity utilisation to calculate the normal limit, turning this field on will set the maximum limit to be available capacity from SAP rather than the theoretical maximum.
This setting is turned off by default.
You would turn on this setting if you wanted to force the work centre resource to limit the availability to the available capacity when resource levelling.
In the section Work Centre Capacity and Resource Limits in Mapping Work Centres and Resources, there is a description of how Weavecentrix Desktop calculates the P3 resource limits from the SAP work centre capacity information. A key element of that is the fact that SAP quotes a daily capacity whereas Primavera P3 looks at the number of resources available per hour where the project planning unit is hour.
Primavera P3 will only allow a whole number in the resource limit. However, there are a number of calculations where there is the possibility of rounding the resource limit. This setting allows you to always round up rather than to the nearest whole number.
This setting is turned on by default.
SAP uses a price for a work centre in calculating the planned costs. If you turn on this setting, Weavecentrix Desktop will retrieve the SAP work centre price at the time of creating the resource and use this as the resource price.
The section Work Centre Costs and Resource Prices in Mapping Work Centres and Resources describes where this price comes from.
This setting is turned on by default.
