The actuals from SAP can be defined in the following terms:
· Dates – the actual start and end dates of an operation.
· Hours – the labour hours actually incurred against an operation by a work centre.
· Cost – the calculated or reported actual cost booked against an operation due to: labour hours worked; materials consumed; services incurred or goods delivered.
· Receipts – the number of goods or services receipted against the operation.
· Usage – the actual usage of a PRT during an operation.
In terms of a Primavera P3 project, the main fields for actuals in P3 are the actual start and end dates on the activity. The actual values are mostly driven by the resource assignment. The Actual to date field is the field used for reporting the actual hours, usage or receipts of a resource assignment. The cost tends to be a secondary field which is driven by the Price per unit of the resource rather than independently entered.
