To install Weavecentrix Desktop from the web, first go to the download page on the Weavecentrix website.

This will display the Weavecentrix Desktop installation page for you. You can then click on the installation button to start the installation program or you can download the installation package to your computer before running it. It is recommended to run the installation package using the installation button. This will then start Windows Installer package .
When the web page opens, you may get a message similar to the one displayed here.

This can happen with Microsoft Internet Explorer when it blocks an application that is embedded in the webpage. This application works out which version of the Weavecentrix Desktop installer is correct for your system. You don’t need to use this embedded application but it saves some time if you do. To enable the embedded application, click on the message at the top of the screen. You will see the popup as shown below. Select the Allow blocked content option.

Microsoft Internet Explorer will then display a dialog as shown below. Click on the Yes button. The embedded installation control will then be displayed on the web page as a button.


There is a checkbox next to the installation button. This checkbox lets you decided wether you want to include a Java Virtual Machine (VM) in your installation or not. It is included by default. If you are not sure whether to include it or not, leave the checkbox turned on.
Click on the button marked Download Installer for Windows.
If you did this using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may see the following confirmation dialog box displayed. Click on the Run button.
The Windows Installer will now run.
If you are using Mozilla Firefox, your security settings may not give you the option of running this program. It may only allow you to save the file. If this is the case, save the file to any location on your PC, making sure that you remember where you saved it. Then, using Microsoft Windows Explorer, navigate to this location and then double-click on the file. This starts the Windows Installer.
You can download the installation package to your computer before you run it. There are no particular advantages in doing so but some people prefer to do it this way.
On the installation page, you will see a list of available installation packages as shown below:

There are two installation packages available. One with a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) included and one without. If you are not sure which one to use, select the one with the JVM included. The JVM is installed locally for Weavecentrix Desktop so it does not impact other applications you may have which use other versions of JVMs.
Click on the installation package you selected. If you are running Microsoft Internet Explorer, you will see a dialog box, asking you whether you wish to open or save a file called WXDesktopInstall.exe. You can either save the file locally to you PC and then run it from there or you can run it directly.
To save the file locally on your PC, select Save on the dialog box. Save the file to any location on your PC, making sure that you remember where you saved it. Then, using Microsoft Windows Explorer, navigate to this location and then double-click on the file. This starts Windows Installer.
You can also run the file by selecting Run on the dialog box. This will save the file WXDesktopInstall.exe to your TEMP directory on your PC and then runs it. This starts Windows Installer.
